3 Must Attend Dreamforce 2011 Sessions
Dreamforce 2011 is only about a month away and now is about the time that I begin working on my breakout session schedule for the big four day event. We all have Marc's Keynotes locked and loaded but what about the sessions right after? As I started browsing through the Dreamforce Portal I noticed the list of well over 400 sessions. So many to attend, so little time. We all want to use our time wisely so here is a list of three sessions I am going to reserve a seat for.
Best Practices for Clean Data
Each client we work with ends up spending countless hours working on scrubbing their data to get it into the right format to migrate it to Salesforce.com. The initial scrubbing is a one time task but what about after you have loaded it and begin using the tool? Salesforce has great features to help stop duplicate and dirty data with validations rules and merging capabilities but it is certainly not fool proof. This session is focused on keeping your data clean and provides great insight into best practices. It also gives you an intro to Jigsaw which can be a great option for helping with keeping Leads, Accounts and Contacts clean.
Social Media Execution: The Journey
The big storyline of Dreamforce 11 is the Social Enterprise. There is a reason companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google are so successful and if your business isn't utilizing social media, then you better start. Sales and Customer Service have gone Social in a big way and this is a great session to take a look at how to take a step into the new world. It will go into strategy, execution and also some of the big pitfalls and speed bumps you might meet along the way. There is nothing better then understanding the experience of others to help catapult you to the top.
Set the Social Road Map for Your Company
With social being the storyline of Dreamforce there should be no surprise that my third pick is also part of that theme however this choice is more about one of the speakers. In this session about global rollout strategies you get to hear Gary Vaynerchuk, author of the New York Times Bestseller "Crush It! Why Now Is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion" speak about his experiences. We at Arkus are huge fans of Gary (@GaryVee) and we would not want to miss this for the world. Dreamforce has invited many industry experts so if Gary doesn't do it for you, maybe a Tim Campos, CIO of Facebook or Charlene Li, Founder of Altimeter Group will.
As mentioned above, there are over 400 sessions available at this year's Dreamforce and they will fill up fast. Make sure you take the time to browse the Dreamforce portal and put together a list of sessions you would like to attend. I would even suggest prioritize them in case a session gets filled up. Feel free to stop by the Arkus booth (#30) and say hi. Good luck and hope to see you there!
